  • Deaths by suicide
  • Suicide attempts
  • Natural disasters
  • Sudden deaths and
  • Other traumatic events

This support includes deaths or incidents involving students, staff, or other school community members such as parents or grandparents.

Be You can assist with suicide postvention planning, response, and recovery, which might include:

  • Suicide postvention planning workshops to prepare your school community should a death by suicide occur.
  • Support for school leaders who are responding to a critical incident or suicide to address student, staff and community needs.
  • Collaboratively working alongside school leaders and wellbeing teams to manage short- and longer-term recovery following an incident.
  • Work with school communities to respond to emerging suicide risk

In the event of a critical incident or death by suicide it is important for schools to undertake immediate risk management processes, follow emergency protocols and contact your relevant department or school authority.

If your school is currently responding to, or recovering from, a critical incident or suicide, contact your Be You team on 0475 838 049 for support.
