Supporting Healthy Food in Schools

Nutrition Australia ACT provide free support and advice for school canteens, helping children access nourishing food at school.

The ACT Nutrition Support Service (ACTNSS), operated by Nutrition Australia ACT, has worked alongside ACT School Canteens for more than a decade. Together, we have helped to shift the focus away from unhealthy food and replace it with fresh, healthier options that not only support children’s health and wellbeing but also help to create an environment for our children that is free from unhealthy food influence and marketing.

Supported by the ACT Government, all ACT Public School canteens receive a free annual menu assessment in line with the ACT Public School Food and Drink Policy.
