Overview
Orienteering is a sport and recreation which exercises both the mind and the body, and is suitable for ACT primary and secondary school students. Orienteering ACT (OACT) conducts a number of activities which are designed specifically for juniors (ie aged 20 and under at 31 December). In significant competitions, age classes for juniors are by gender at two-year intervals from 10 and under through to 20 and under. However, for most regular local events the classes are defined by gender and the course a competitor is undertaking. This means that participants may chose a course which suits them rather than a prescribed course for their age.
In addition to regular events, OACT conducts a number of introductory events for students at primary and secondary schools.
