Just Play is a FREE government run program aimed at engaging more students in school sport through the diversification of opportunity, breaking the traditional focus and delivery model, while building school cluster communities and promoting school unity and spirit. Just Play is available to all ACT primary schools.
Triathlon Australia offers a junior triathlon programme to develop fundamental skills required for sport in children between the ages of 7 – 13 years.
The TRYstars program helps kids develop the skills and confidence needed for triathlons in a fun, active and rewarding environment! TRYstars is Triathlon Australia’s national “first touch” junior participation program for 7-12 yr olds that encourages kids to get involved in Triathlon all around Australia
The Active Kids Challenge is an 8 week campaign designed to inspire and encourage kids to reach the recommended 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity each day. There are 4 themes and many resources to help teachers. The program is offered to schools throughout the ACT.
Supporting Canberra schools in their efforts to get students physically active. Jump Rope for Heart also provides registered schools with free resources and lesson plans to educate students on the importance of maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
SMA free flyers, fact sheets and brochures support Canberra schools with their efforts to improve safe participation within sport and physical activity. Resources include prevention & management of injuries + 12 common sports injuries.
The Ride or Walk to School program is an encompassing and supportive program, designed to drive culture change within the school community around riding or walking to school.
Swim and Survive is suitable for school aged children from 4 years and up.
Physical activity programs that can be tailored into a school’s curriculum that offer direct experiences for students and professional development for teachers.
No other organisation offers such a diverse variety of activities and experiences across such a broad age-range.
